Worse than socialism?

The President wants a Census Director who understands statistics. Republicans are outraged.

Republicans are upset because President Obama has nominated as director of the Census Bureau someone who … horror of horrors … understands statistics.

I keep forgetting that ignorance is a family value.

Footnote Presumably none of the people who were complaining about “political interference” when Rahm Emmanuel was designated the White House point person on the census will retract their prior outrage now that a respected social scientist has been put in direct command of the operation. The sum of the outrages can always exceed 100%.
