Who’s in charge here?

Ummmm….Governor? Hello?

Is it true that the Governor of Louisiana still hasn’t proclaimed a state of emergency?

Hat tip: Balloon Juice.

Update: Wait a minute. Looks as if the Gov asked the Prez for a disaster proclamation last Sunday, and that Bush made such a proclamation even before the effective date of the request. Can anyone tell me what legal effect a proclamation of emergency by the Governor would have?

Second update Never mind. It was just another lie from the famous “senior Bush Administration official” fibbing on background. The Governon’s emergency proclamation was issued Friday the 26th.
