Rove raising money for Dean?

A reader reports hearing on John Batchelor’s radio talk show the rumor that Karl Rove is raising money for Howard Dean. The reader reports that all of the participants seemed familiar with the rumor, and no one dismissed it as absurd.

Actually, it seems far-fetched to me. No doubt someone in the White House has thought about this, but actually doing it would be something else. Was it Churchill who said that there was no need to assassinate someone who was already committing suicide?

Still, if anyone knows of more than rumor about this, I’d be interested in hearing.
