Just asking

Fred Thompson proposed banning PAC contributions entirely. So why are people who hate John McCain because of McCain-Feingold’s “assault on free speech” eager to see Thompson run for President?

If John McCain is anathema to libertarians because of McCain-Feingold, why are they so eager to see his co-sponsor, Fred Thompson &#8212 who actually proposed banning PAC contributions entirely &#8212 enter the race? I agree that if you took all of the current GOP candidates you’d have a good start on a turkey farm, but this sounds like desperation.
