User-targeted online advertising finally works.

I’ve never understood the ad-supported online-business model, as I’m fairly certain that I’ve never clicked on a banner, AdWords link, or any other advertisement (and I assume that everyone else behaves exactly as I do). And I can only wonder at the algorithms and data mining that go into serving up “context-sensitive,” “user-targeted” ads that are in no sense either. But I’ll leave it to the good folks at DoubleClick to sort that out.

Today, though, they’ve got me pegged.
