Bush polls

It's been more than month since Bush has had any poll with approval at 40% or higher, or with approve-minus-disapprove below 20. (Laura and the dog are reportedly 100% with the program still.) I don't think that's ever happened before, and it seemed to be worth noting with the SOU address coming up and all.
When, and this is actually a serious question, would it be fair to use the word despise to characterize Americans' view of their leader?
