Bad judgment under stress? or CHA..."If this evidence was withheld for political purposes, one can only speculate as to how many additional children may have been endangered before this information was finally revealed."
This from John Boehner, defending Hastert by trying to float the idea that Foleygate is some sort of Democratic trick. But doesn't that missile change course and head directly for Hastert? With friends like Boehner....
Over at ThinkProgress.org and AmericaBlog.com they've posted that Brian Ross, the ABC blogger who broke the story, is saying that the emails came to him from within the "same party" as Foley, which pretty much puts the scotch on claims the Dems "did" this as a political tactic.
Yeah, Boehner's been going out of his way to make Hastert look bad-- I should say *worse,* shouldn't I. Where's the surprise?
Boehner was parachuted in as Majority Leader. If Hastert gets pressured out, *and* if by some miracle the Goopers still have their majority com January, guess who's in line to be the new speaker? Yep-- Boehner.
Like any good careerist, all he's doing here is grabbing the rear end of the guy ahead of him on the ladder and yanking hard. And you can interpret that any way you want to.
Boehner's boomerang trick could also hit him by mistake as well.
