The $100 "gas rebate" checkIs it actually possible to understimate the intelligence of the American voter? Apparently it is, if you're Bill Frist.
But he's an experienced professional. Don't try it at home.
He's just relying on available data. After 2004, it was clear that 50% of Americans were eminently BS-able. The 'deja Iraq' prep for the Iran war is another point in favor of Barnum's famous saying.
Posted by: Barry at May 1, 2006 10:24 AMWhat's next? Voters don't like the war in Iraq. Maybe $150 will change their minds. How much is it worth to the average voter to decide invading Iran is a good idea?
Posted by: Eric Mayer at May 1, 2006 10:39 AMDear Bill, if you send me a hundred bucks, I'll donate it to the Democrat of my choice--one in a close election come November.
Posted by: joseph duemer at May 1, 2006 12:16 PMI don't get it. This is good, progressive policy, certainly compared to any other way of "doing something" about high gas prices.
