The wayward Press Club

Having defended the cause of comedy in the person of Wonkette regarding the flap over the National Press Club's GannonGluckert forum, I ought in justice to acknowledge validity of the central complaint in Sean-Paul Kelly's letter of protest, cited by Majikthise.
It does seem extremely strange for the National Press Club to conduct a forum on a major news story and invite the subject of the story but none of the reporters who broke it.
