FilmBizarro’s list of the 30 best independent films of 2013 says the following about # 20
A MEASURE OF THE SIN
Director: Jeff WeddingIt’s easy to see why Jeff Wedding’s “A Measure of the Sin” has quickly become the talk of the town during its festival run. To put it simply, you just don’t see movies like “A Measure of the Sin” anymore. And not just because it was actually shot on film. A poetically haunting movie about a woman wanting to break free from the nightmarish world she lives in brought on by her entrapment and seclusion by a sinister man who once held her mother captive. It’s surprising in it’s minimalist style, “A Measure of the Sin” generates an atmosphere of despair that smothers the viewer.
2014 will bring I hope a few more festival showings and then a release, which I will announce here. In the meantime, all details and the trailer are available at this website.

Nitpicky of me, but I hate to see the confusion of “it’s” (correct shortening of “It is) and “it’s” (false way of writing the possessive “its”), especially by an articulate, intelligent writer. It’s like seeing an elegantly dressed woman with her slip showing,,,,
Keith Humphreys says
Good catch, although the writing isn’t mine so I am leaving it intact as a quote.

It’s like seeing an elegantly dressed woman with ‘failed middle school’ plastered across her back.

Damn. Sadly true though.
I’m actually the person who wrote this summary and while I do know the difference between “it’s” and “its” (even if it may not show), screw ups do happen occasionally. Not that it excuses not catching it when I went to review it.
Thanks for the link to article though, Keith.

Ha! And then I go and screw up again with my reply. I’m doing very well, apparently…
Keith Humphreys says
@Preston C: Thanks for your very thoughtful review of the movie. We all feel honored that you would pick us as a notable film of 2013.
Best wishes, and hope we cross paths in person someday
