I doubt the Romney campaign cares much about this one way or another. People who watch the Sunday gasbag shows weren’t the target audience for the ads. Romeny got far less pushback in Ohio or other Midwestern swing states ( where it would have mattered ). The local papers didn’t do much beyond pointing out that the ad was “controversial ” and local tv apparently didn’t really do everett that much.
The Obama people didn’t seem to do much either. I was also surprised that the unions didn’t do more–I know they did some stuff but this was their opportunity to go all out and show that they can made a difference in a crucial state. Basically, Romney is speaking directly and powerfully to the low information votes who may well decide the race while the Democrats and their allies are playing nice to impress the beltway boys. Not the Chicago way.

“To preserve the freedom of the human mind then and freedom of the press, every spirit should be ready to devote itself to martyrdom; for as long as we may think as we will, and speak as we think, the condition of man will proceed in improvement.
Thomas Jefferson, letter to William Green Mumford (18 June 1799).

this, rather than the next three, I fear. High-information voters have known that Romney is a liar for ages.
