Think about how much worse Sandy could have been without NASA and NOAA. Like FEMA, they’re all “discretionary non-defense spending,” and they’d all take huge hits under the Ryan budget.

      Agreed to a point, but there are any number of communities in New Jersey and New York that depend on beachfront in the summer months and will continue to do so as long as people like to go to the beach – and that will never end.

      I feel even more strongly about people who live in the Mississippi flood plains as they flood with far more frequency.
