The CIA has fired Blackwater (aka Xe) from its operational role in drone airstrikes on al Qaeda bases. That’s a good start. But Erik Prince’s band of pirates still has “security and support” contracts, not just with the CIA but also with the State Department. It will take time for the criminal process to run its course on all of the misconduct by the firm and its employees. There’s no need to keep feeding that particular beast at the government trough in the meantime.
