…or maybe he’s just a cretin. On Hardball, Chris Matthews pressed Fleischer on whether George W. Bush left the economy better than he found it. Fleischer responded that Bush had “kept us safe”:
Matthews: We were attacked on your watch. If you start getting into who was attacked when, we suffered the worst domestic calamity in history on your watch.Fleischer: Chris, how dare you!
How DARE you mention something that is an objective fact!
That wasn’t the worst of it. Fleischer then said that “after September 11th how could we take the chance that Saddam would strike us again.” (emphasis mine).
I never cease to be amazed at how I never cease to be amazed by these people.
