Apparently the White House is cool to the idea of a bridge loan to the automakers. So are many Republicans on the Hill.
How many people–including auto workers, but also including the businesses that serve them (e.g. groceries, restaurants, dry cleaners, mechanics, etc.)–live in Ohio, Michigan and Pennsylvania? Interested in writing them off for the next couple of decades?
