Clearly it’s in the interest of the Democratic Party to help Hillary Rodham Clinton off the stage before she does any more damage to our chances in November. Just now I was sitting with a group of fellow political junkies thinking about whether and how the party leadership might pull it off.
Well, for example, how about re-running Michigan as a caucus? Between the Detroit/Ann Arbor axis and Obama’s organizational advantage, he should be able to take that contest comfortably. And that’s what the Michigan party leaders seem to have in mind.
