In the same essay, Lowry calls Moore “the Leni Riefenstahl of socialism.”
That’s the key to understanding the contemporary “conservative” apparat. People like Lowry think that they’re jusified in telling any lie and spreading any slander by the dishonesty they’ve projected onto “the left.” In fighting them, we should stay civil and honest.
Oh, and merciless. Let’s not forget merciless.
