If John McCain is anathema to libertarians because of McCain-Feingold, why are they so eager to see his co-sponsor, Fred Thompson — who actually proposed banning PAC contributions entirely — enter the race? I agree that if you took all of the current GOP candidates you’d have a good start on a turkey farm, but this sounds like desperation.
