I have no reason to think this is true, but with Juan Williams apparently telling NPR listeners:
Prostitutes … or call girls were given to people as part of lobbying efforts, part of efforts to persuade people to do things on Capitol Hill.
I have to wonder: wouldn’t it be delicious if some of the prostitutes at Dusty Foggo’s Watergate poker games came from the Jeane Palfrey “escort service”? Is that the card she’s holding back, hoping that her clients can put the pressure on to get her a plea bargain before the case goes to trial? If so, I’m afraid she’s under a severe misimpression about how the process works. She’s made this case much too hot to fix. Pass the popcorn.
Update The eagerly-awaited ABC News story turned out to be a nothingburger. No names we hadn’t already heard. But of course those were just the phone records. If “escorts” were being paid for by third parties, the numbers of the ultimate recipients of the “service” wouldn’t be there.
