    Well, apparently the Rovester did, even though Bush was watching the results up to 11pm EST, when it was obvious that the shite had hit the fan…whatever his eyes and ears were relating to his brain, he needed Rove to actually ’splain it up for him in graphic terms…”we’re effing toast”.

    Hmmmm, isn’t this better translated as “Who’s going to call George Bush and tell him what will happen?” (or “…what happens now?”)? Succede is present tense, and that seems to fit the context of the original passage at least as well.

    yes, “…tell him what’s happening/how things are/what’s going down” is better.
