I don’t know anything about the case of the Kurdish Iraqi expats in Harrisonburg, VA, other than what Max Sawicky says. But the story as he tells it sounds both ugly and believable. They’ve been charged with (and in at least one case convicted of) Patriot Act felonies for sending money home.
