It’s a pleasure to welcome my colleague Andrew Sabl to the Reality-Based Community. He’s already been a presence here in the form of my posting of his emails to me, and I’m delighted he’s agreed to cut out the middle-man and speak for himself.

Andy is the resident political theorist in our public policy department, and the author of Ruling Passions . He’s now at work on a book about Hume.

The policy of the RBC is to grow only by adding members whose addition improves the average quality of the group. Obviously, that’s a self-limiting process, since every new addition raises the bar for the next. If I weren’t here to keep the average down, new additions would be virtually impossible.
