During the election season, I recall seeing a variety of posts and op-ed columns attacking the CIA as an institution for its “disloyalty” in opposing the decision to go to war in Iraq. There were accusations of “disinformation” and “destablization operations” directed at the Bush Administration and at least one comparison of Bush’s situation to Musharraf’s, always worried about the threat of being overthrown by his intelligence agency.
