If so, the era of Judith Miller, media martyr, is likely to be a short one, and the bullsh*t gossip-monger “media critics” such as Howard Kurtz and his various bloggic and semi-bloggic imitators can sit back and watch how real media criticism is done: by shoe-leather reporting.
My sense, for what little it’s worth, is that Jehl is the one Times reporter who wanted to cover Plamegate seriously from the beginning, and that he’s both livid with rage at his colleagues and editors and sufficiently vindicated by events to have earned the right to do his job, at last, without interference.
This is going to be fun to watch.
