The governing council of the UK university teachers’ union (the AUT) has, reportedly by a 3-to-1 vote, overturned the AUT resolution calling for a blacklist of faculty members from two Israeli universities. As has been remarked before in this space, the near-unanimity around this issue among scholars in the US, including opposition to the proposed boycott from prominent Palestinian academics, was extremely heartening.
