I didn’t really expect my moratorium proposal concerning recent sad events in Florida to attract much support, but the sheer ill will and bad taste coming from some elements of the right wing continues to surprise and disgust me.
For example, Tom Smith of The Right Coast finds the day after a man’s wife dies to be an unusually good day on which to poke nasty fun at him and wish him eternal suffering. And Todd Zywicki, who admits he hasn’t been following the case closely — and who therefore can’t have a considered opinion about whether Smith’s vicious attack even has a sound factual basis — finds the result “brilliant.”
