One of the few encouraging features of the Armstrong Williams affair was Williams’s rather quick acknowledgement that what he did was wrong. I was impressed.
Silly me! Turns out he didn’t mean it:
Mr. Williams, who began his career in public relations before emerging as a radio personality in the 1990’s … has told reporters that he regretted accepting the $240,000 payment, but he has refused to return his fee to the government, telling USA Today that to do so “would be ludicrous because they bought advertising, and they got it.”
I wonder if Karl Rove left a good tip on the bedside table?
