My machine won’t play the video, so I’m relying on the description by Jeralyn Merritt: a young male Bush supporter kicked a young petite woman ACT-UP protester from behind while she was being held on the ground by three Secret Service agents.
ACT-UP is a pain in the ass, but this is inexcusable. The willingness of the conventiongoers to stand by and let it happen speaks volumes about their basic level of decency.
Is this what they mean by “a pack, not a herd”?
The dastard’s picture was captured by the cameras; let’s hope someone identifies him. Kicking with a shod foot counts as assault with a deadly weapon in most states, though I don’t know if New York is among them. About a year upstate would do this guy some good, don’t you think?
