Tom Oliphant of the Boston Globe was standing next to John Kerry the day he did whatever he did with his ribbons/medals/decorations. If, like me, you have been carrying around the vague impression that Kerry has been caught in a minor but dishonorable fib, you should read Oliphant’s account.
