Naturally, Kerry wants to start debating Bush now. Naturally, Bush doesn’t want to play.
Here’s what I’d do if I were the Kerry campaign: Make a life-sized action figure of the President, in his carrier-deck flight suit; rig it with a tape recorder stocked with Bush’s comments on various subjects, plus some key Bushisms; and script a debate between Kerry and the action figure. Make that dialogue part of Kerry’s stock appearance.
Should make for great TV, and help shake Kerry out of his reportedly dull delivery of the stump speech.
Now here’s an idea!
