I didn’t watch Meet the Press; I just read the transcript. A partisan but not rabid reader (also an old friend) thinks I missed something:
Currently watching the Bush interview from yesterday on CNBC this PM. Watch it. The transcript doesn’t even begin to reveal how badly Bush actually performed.
I understand why [Tim Russert] pulled his punches — otherwise he could have actually engendered sympathy for B and/or created panic if B actually cracked completely (a possibilty that, seeing his affect, which the transcript didn’t show, I would not have ruled out).
